• Stimulating technology entrepreneurship
  MIC runs the Show-Me Business Plan Competition® to promote awareness of technology entrepreneurship and connect entrepreneurs with resources.
• Opportunity assessment
  MIC counselors assess the technology underpinning a proposed venture, the market demand and competitive environment, and the management team that is proposing the venture.
• Research and Development
  MIC counselors coach research and development strategy as well planning an R&D pathway that is tailored to the venture and the resources available. MIC connects entrepreneurs with expertise to accomplish their R&D. MIC also helps entrepreneurs get their R&D financed through SBIR and STTR grant assistance.
• Launching the high-growth venture
  MIC counselors guide entrepreneurs in the development of business plans for their venture and assist with investor presentations and raising capital. MIC is the facilitating entity for Centennial Investors, a 45-member angel investor network investing in Mid-Missouri ventures.
• Incubating the ventures that result.
  MIC counselors mentor technology startups through their early growth. MIC helps entrepreneurs find appropriate locations for their ventures. By August 2008, MIC will operate the MU Life Science Incubator at Monsanto Place and will have specialized facilities, including wet labs, available for its clients.
